Meet our Executive Chef/Operator, Christopher Coil. Chris is an innovative Culinarian with over 20 years of experience that has allowed him to quickly climb the ranks of the operation in food service management.
Chris began his culinary career as a Cook Supervisor for Harry’s Main Street Grille where he went on to become the Kitchen Manager and Sous Chef. In addition he worked as a cook for a few local restaurants in Carroll County. He then went on to work for a food contract management company based out of Westminster, MD as a Cook Supervisor before eventually taking over as Corporate Training Support.
Chris is knowledgeable in providing high quality food and service to residents/customers and delights in hosting family events. His extensive background has allowed him to work with numerous chefs and line cooks on recipe consistency, food preparation and plate presentation. He took his passion for food, safety and services and became the Assistant Food Service Director where he assisted the Food Service Director with planning, directing, and coordinating the food service and its related activities according to federal, state, facility, and company regulations. While there, he quickly climbed the ranks and became the Area Chef Manager. Chris was responsible for ensuring high quality customer service at 14 facilities that are 130+ beds by providing vital training and development to all culinary team members throughout the MD/PA region.
In 2016, he made a decision to move back to a community role as Director of Dining Services where he planned, directed, and coordinated the food service and its related activities according to federal, state, local, facility, and company regulations while managing a team of more than fifty (50) team members and an annual budget of 2.1 million dollars.
Chris became a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and a Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) from the University of North Dakota and is ServSafe Certified through the National Restaurant Association. He is also an ANFP member.
Meet our Owner/Manager, Katie Coil. Katie has 13 years experience in business, accounting and human resource management. She obtained her degrees from Towson University, Carroll, and is a SHRM member. Katie currently works outside the family business in a Corporate setting as a Human Resource Director while managing the business from home.
Chris and his wife Katie married in 2017 and pursued the dream of owning a food truck and being entrepreneurs. Both are in the midst of obtaining additional certifications! Chris has started the necessary steps to obtain his CEC (Certified Executive Chef) and Katie has started the preliminary steps to obtain her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) all while working, owning a business, and raising a family. Family is #1 for this husband and wife team. At times you may begin seeing their young children visit the truck or assisting with ‘Mason and Grayson’s Lemonade Stand’ which is owned by KC Elite Hospitality, LLC.
Chris and Katie became the banquet hall coordinators at the Westminster Riding Club in 2020 and serve as their exclusive caterer.
